Three operating scale layouts. A century of artifacts. One museum dedicated to the railroads of Sheboygan and the craft that preserves them.
Operating Layouts
Each scale layout is built and maintained by Society members. Operating sessions are demonstrated for visitors most weekends.
HO Scale
Our largest layout — 1:87 scale — depicting a freight corridor through the upper Midwest with multi-train operation.
N Scale
1:160 — a sweeping mainline that packs canyon, river, and town into a single sweep of detailed scenery.
O Scale
1:48 — the original tinplate scale. Heavyweight locomotives and traditional three-rail running on a heritage layout.
Artifacts From the Working Railroads
Hundreds of objects — lanterns, brass bells, conductor caps, telegraph keys, timetables, hand tools, and original signage — drawn from the railroads that served Sheboygan and the wider Wisconsin network. Many were donated by retired railroaders and their families.
The Lines That Served Sheboygan
A dedicated exhibit tracing the Chicago & North Western, the Milwaukee Road, and the industrial spurs that once threaded Sheboygan's lakefront and brought lumber, grain, and passengers through the city.
